Eleanor Marie Thorsell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Thorsell, 219 S. Meyler st., became the bride of Virgil Charles Wemmer, naval electrician's mate first class, in a double ring ceremony conducted by the Rev. William R. Patterson at the Community Covenant church. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white slipper satin gown with seed pearl trim and long train. Her full length veil was edged with white lace, and fell from a tiara of seed pearls. She carried a white Bible tipped by an orchid with streamers of bouvardia. Mildred Nelson attended the bride as maid of honor and wore a blue satin gown with talisman rose bouquet. Bridesmaids, Vanette Thorsell, cousin of the bride, and Edith Griffith, wore pink and blue net gowns and carried matching sprays of roses. Nils Olsen was best man, and Clifford Thorsell, brother of the bride, and Kenneth Adams, ushers. Anna Lofstrom presided at the organ while Geraldine Sheffield sang "Because" and "I'm in Love Wirth the Lover of My Soul." The church was decorated with palms and large arrangements of yellow chrysanthemums and gladioli. One hundred and thirty attended the reception following the ceremony at the church. The couple's cake was four-tiered and decorated with pink roses. They left immediately for a honeymoon through Salinas. The bride wore a powder blue suit with brown accessories. Mrs. Wemmer was graduated from San Pedro high school, and Metropolitan  business school. At the time of her marriage she was employed at the Naval Air Station, Terminal Island. Wemmer, son of Ottis Wemmer of Kansas, was graduated from Williamsburg high school, Kansas, and now is employed at the Long Beach naval hospital. He was held a prisoner of war by the Japanese for almost three years. They will be at home on Feb. 11 at 2352 Grand ave., Long Beach. Assisting with the reception were Mesdames Carl Petersen and Walter Petersen, hostesses, and Geraldine Scheffield, in charge of the guest book. Former church pastor, Gordon Fredeen sand "The Lord's Prater," and Mrs. Rudy Roxstrom of Los Angeles sang several numbers of her own composition.

SAN PEDRO - First Baptist Church, Wilmington, will be the setting Friday for the wedding of Nancy Helen Hargrove and Clifford Robert Thorsell. Nancy, a graduate of Banning High School, is the daughter of the Audrey Hargroves of 1161 Ravenna Ave., Wilmington. Clifford is the son of the Hugo Thorsells of 219 Meyler St. He is a graduate of San Pedro High School and attended Westmont Bible College in Santa Barbara.

KERRVILLE, TX Mr. Henry John Schonberg, 78, of Kerrville, Texas, died on Friday, Aug. 13, 2004, in a Kerrville hospital. Mr. Schonberg, a resident of Kerrville since 1970 and a prior resident of Fredericksburg, was born on June 7, 1926, in Findley, N.D., to Henry John Schonberg and Merle Vivian Combs Schonberg. Henry served his country faithfully during World War II in the United States Army. He was a disabled veteran. Henry was a member of the Country Community Church. He married Nina Mae Sutton on June 10, 1974, in Kerrville, Texas. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mae Schonberg, of Kerrville; three daughters, Gloria Lamb, of Morgan, Linda Molter, of Fredericksburg, and Carol Cornehl, of Fredericksburg; one son, Daniel Schonberg, of Fredericksburg; three sisters, Floy Gustafson, of Arroyo Grande, Calif., Edythe Sutton, of Milaca, Minn., and Nancy Thorsell of Ontario, Calif.; grandchildren, Rio Schonberg, of San Antonio, Chad Molter, of Ingram, Matthew Molter, of Lometa, Jarrod Cornehl, of San Francisco, Calif., Trenton Cornehl, of Lubbock, Sage Schonberg and Ara Schonberg, both of Fredericksburg; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Eckhardt; a son, Dennis Schonberg; two sisters, Doris Walters and Peggy Wutke; and one grandchild, Levi Lamb. The family will receive friends at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Kerr-ville on Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, from 3 to 5 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at Grimes Funeral Chapels, Kerrville, Texas, with the Rev. Burleson--Mary Jeanne McCall, 69, a Real Estate Agent, died Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at a local Hospice. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 10, 2003, at Reece Prairie Baptist Church in Burleson. Mary was born April 9, 1933, to Harvey and Doris Long Walters. She married Earl McCall on October 10, 1952, in Los Angeles, California. She was a member of the Business Womens Club and very active in the community. She attended Reece Prairie Baptist Church, and was a very devoted mother and a very loving grandmother.
