Miss Jane Schliewe, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Schliewe, 1318 South Third Street, became the bride of Kenneth Toebe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Toebe, route 1, on Saturday, July, 9. The Rev. Eugene Gunther officiated at the 3pm ceremony in St. John's Lutheran Church. For her wedding, the bride chose a gown of white silk organza. The bodice was styled of lace with a Sabrina neckline and long sleeves. The full skirt was trimmed with lace inserts from waistline to the hem. Her Watteau train was attached at the shoulders, falling into a chapel train trimmed with lace. Her three-tier veil of nylon tulle was held by a crown trimmed with crystals and pearls. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses with small red rosettes scatted throughout. Identically styled rainbow colored gowns in mint, pink, yellow and blue were worn by bridal aides, Mrs. Elaine Howard, sister of the groom, Miss Carol Schliewe, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Joyce Dornfield, respectively. Of silk organza, they were fashioned with cap sleeves and modified full skirts. Velvet ribbon caught at the waistline fell into streamers down the front of the gowns. The back of the skirt was detailed with a ruffle from the waist to the hem line. Their headpieces were leaf clusters of silk organza. They carried S-shaped arrangements of carnations tinted in colors to match their gowns and centered with white roses. Flower girl Connie Toebe, niece of the groom. Best man David Dornfeld. Groomsmen were Lloyd A. Schliewe, brother of the bride, Herbert Toebe, brother of the groom, and Victor Howard brother-in-law.
