Mr. Robert G. Lewis

Mr. Robert G. Lewis, 72, of Gaithersburg, who returned in 1993 as vice president of Johnston, Lemon & Co., brokerage house, died of cancer Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Wilson Health Care Center of Asbury Methodist Village Gaithersburg. He moved to Asbury in 1998 from Bethesda. His marriage of Mary Beth Edward Lewis of Rockville ended in divorce. Mr. Lewis was born in Birmingham. He was a graduate of Montgomery Blair High School and American University. He served in the Army during World War II. He began his 44-year career with Johnston, Lemon as a broker. He was a member of Kenwood Golf and Country Club, the Masons and the Georgetown Kiwanis Club. Surviving are three daughters, Katherine Raff and husband, Brian of Germantown, Patricia McGhee and husband, Carl of Mount Airy, and Diane Mouser and husband, Cecil of Saratoga Springs, N. Y., one son, William Lewis and wife, Cinnamon of Marietta, Ga., two brothers, Evan Lewis of Denver, Colo. and Gordon Lewis of Wilmington, Del., and seven grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a. m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Pumphrey's Bethesda-Chevy Chase Funeral Home, 7557 Wisconsin Ave., Bethesda. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 11331 Amherst Ave., Silver Spring, Md 20902.
