He was the son of Simon S. Blake of Martinsburg, Bedford (Blair) Co., PA, and Mary Magdalena Ambrose of near Ligonier, Westmoreland Co., PA. Ida A. May Halsey was born August 1, 1862, in Orion Twp., Richland Co., WI, and died Friday, June 4, 1920, in Dodgeville, Iowa Co., WI, at age 57. She was the daughter of George W. Halsey of New York and Huldah Annabella Richards of Richland Co., IL. Her parents were married on March 23, 1858, in Wisconsin. Sylvester Fremont Blake and Ida A. May Halsey were married on January 23, 1881, at the Methodist church in Richland Center, Richland Co., WI. Sylvester Fremont Blake and Ida A. May (Halsey) Blake had no children. T In 1920 Cathern and Jesse Scott are living in the Village of Cuba City, Smelser Twp., Grant Co., WI. Ida A. May (Halsey) Blake died June 4, 1920, in Dodgeville, Iowa Co., WI at age 57 from typhoid fever. OBITUARY - BLAKE Mrs. Ida A. Blake, wife of Sylvester F. Blake, died at 9:30 a. m. Friday, June 4, 1920, at the age of 57 years, 10 months, and 3 days, after a lingering illness of nine months terminating in typhoid fever. Mrs. Blake was born at Orion, Wis., August 1, 1862. She was married to Sylvester F. Blake Jan. 23, 1881. Thirty-two years ago, they came to Dodgeville, where they have since made their home. She is survived by her husband, and also numerous relatives at the home of her birth. The funeral services were held Saturday, June 5, from her late home, and were conducted by Rev. Gwilym E. Jones, who served in place of her pastor, Rev. Griffiths, who is ill. Miss Frances Lewis and Mrs. Dal Lewis sang. Interment was at the Eastside cemetery. August 16, 1920, Dodgeville, Iowa Co., WI. Volume 96, Page 418. Amount of $3,325. Sylvester Fremont Blake died October 18, 1921, in Wisconsin State Hospital for the Insane, Westport Twp., Dane Co., WI, at age 65. His death certificate indicated that he had a Septicemia (probably a Staph infection) following an infection on the neck of one day, with an infection on the arm a contributing factor. He had been under treatment there for 2 months and 17 days. Sylvester and Ida were buried in Section 1, Lot 34, Block Bdr., Eastside Cemetery, Dodgeville, Iowa Co., WI. By 1930 Kate Scott is living in the Village of Cuba City. Smelser Twp., Grant Co., WI.
