Jemima Jane Stoneking was born November 22, 1870, near Cedar Rapids, Linn Co., IA, and died December 15, 1889, in Ida Co., IA, at age 19. Buried in Battle Center Cemetery, Ida Co., IA. She is the daughter of James B. Stoneking of Dunkard Twp., Greene Co., PA, and Sarah Ellen Scott of Linn Co., IA. She is buried in Battle Center Cemetery, Ida Co., Ia.

MRS. J. H. BAGENSTOS

Mrs. J. H. Bagenstos, 423 Center Street, passed away very suddenly Tuesday evening. She suffered a stroke of paralysis Monday, July 3rd, but was thot to be recovering nicely, however, Tuesday afternoon she suf­fered another bad attack and another in the evening, which resulted in her death. Anna Ethel Blake was born in Illinois, December 17, 1872, and died at the family home in Alva, Oklahoma, July 11, 1922, about 10 p. m. She was yet a young girl when she moved with her parents to northwestern Iowa, where she grew up to young womanhood. On January 27, 1892, she was united in marriage to Joseph H. Bagenstos, of Holstein. Iowa. To this union four children were born, all of whom were present during' her late sickness. Mrs. Bagenstos is survived by her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Ethel G. Fullerton, Mrs. D. Lione Shirley, Mrs. Edna M. Woodson and Ruth M. all of Alva, also a stepson and an adopted daughter, both of Alva. two brothers, Mr. Hubert L. Blake of Dubukue, Iowa, C. V. Blake of Omaha, Neb., and a sister. Mrs. Frances Unger, of Coon Rapids, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at the Christian church this afternoon at two p. m., after which she will be laid to rest in the A. O. U. W. cemetery.

Obituary

Joseph Harrison Bagenstos was born near Belleplain, Iowa, Sept. 7, 1865, and departed this life at his home i Alva on July 15, 1941. Mr. Bagenstos was a true pioneer being the oldest son of a large family, that lost their father when he was only 10 years of age. The family moved to western Iowa near Holstein when that country was still raw prairie. He has always worked hard to help take care of a large family. After the family had grown up he was married and resided on a farm in Cherokee county, Iowa, later moving to Lynn county, Missouri, with his family, where he lived for five years, then located in Woods county, Oklahoma, in 1908, where he spent the remainder of his life. He retired from the farm in 1921, residing at 423 Center street, Alva, until the time of his death. He leaves to mourn his passing, five children: One son, Joe, of Alva, and four daughters, Mrs. W. B. Fullerton of Burlington, Okla., Mrs. Orville Shirley, Mrs. F. M. Woodson, and Mrs. Wilbur Snyder all of Alva, and 17 grand-children and three great grand-children; also two sisters living in Iowa, and a host of friends.
