David Michael "Dave" Stefonek was born May 15, 1941, in Rhinelander, Oneida Co., WI. He is the son of Dexter William Stefonek of Rhinelander, Oneida Co., WI, and Vivian E. Abbey of Rhinelander, Oneida Co., WI

Constance Jane "Connie" Stephens was born September 19, 1942, in Charleston, Kanawha Co., WV. She is the daughter of Thomas Clayton Stephens Jr. of Tornado, Kanawha Co., WV, and Eva Mildred Halstead of Mt. Vernon, Knox Co., OH. She is also the stepdaughter of William Everett McNealey of St. Albans, WV.

David Michael "Dave" Stefonek and Constance Jane "Connie" Stephens were married June 14, 1964, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Golden, Jefferson Co., CO.

David Michael "Dave" Stefonek and Constance Jane "Connie" (Stephens) Stefonek had two children:

  1. Karen Marie Stefonek: Born August 23, 1968, at Methodist Hospital, Minneapolis, Hennepin Co., MN.
  2. Krista Lee Stefonek: Born April 3, 1970, at Methodist Hospital, Minneapolis, Hennepin Co., MN.

David Michael Stefonek and Constance Jane "Connie" (Stephens) Stefonek were divorced about 1987 in Oregon, and Connie reverted to using her maiden name.

Karen J. Rupert was born February 16, 1950, in Winlock, Lewis Co., WA. She is the daughter of Cecil James Rupert and Georgia Elva Weimer. Georgia was born April 14, 1916, in Cambridge, ID; and died February 18, 2008, in Portland, OR. Cecil was born March 14, 1916, in New Waterford, OH; and died April 27, 2006, in Chehalis, WA.

Miss Constance J. Stephens Plans June Bridal in Denver

DENVER, Colo. - The engagement of Miss Constance Jane Stephens to David Michael Stefonek, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Stefonek of Rhinelander, Wisc., has been announced by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William E. McNealy of Denver, formerly of St. Albans, W. Va. The wedding is planned for June in Denver. The granddaughter of  Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Stephens Sr., of Tornado and the late Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Halstead of St. Albans, Miss Stephens is a senior at Walla Walla (Wash.) College, where she is majoring in business administration. Her fiance received his B. S. degree in electrical engineering there last year and is associated with the Bonneville Power Administration in Portland, Ore.

Vivian E. (Abbey) Stefonek died December 25, 1984, in Portland, Multnomah Co., OR, at age 79.

Dexter W. Stefonek died November 19, 1985, in Glendive, Dawson Co., MT, at age 67.

Dave Stefonek ’63 and his wife, Karen (Rupert) ’72, have retired in Corbett, Ore. One of Dave’s life-changing experiences was bypass surgery, subsequent rehab, and a plant-based diet. Dave and Karen have two children, Karen and Krista.

McNealy, William E. 88 Aug. 04, 1923 Sept. 04, 2011 William was born in St. Albans, W. Va., and died in Portland, Ore. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred; and stepson, Thomas Stephens. He is survived by his step-daughter, Constance Stephens; sister, Opal Rimmer; four nieces; and one nephew. William and Mildred shared many wonderful years together traveling the Western U.S. while he oversaw various construction projects. Upon retirement, they moved to Portland and enjoyed the beauty of the Northwest. He enjoyed music and played the trombone with several groups throughout his lifetime. Service 12:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, in Willamette National Cemetery.
