Elisabeth Scheidel was born April 10, 1845, in the town of Grittvil, Alsace-Lorraine, France, and died May 26, 1923, in Shiocton, Outagamie Co., WI, at age 78. She was the daughter of Michal M. Scheidel Sr. and Marguerithe Heil, both of Alsace-Lorraine, France. Charles and Elizabeth were married 1866 in Fond du Lac Co., WI. Charles and Elizabeth had five children:

ELIZABETH BURNS Mrs. Elizabeth Burns, 78, died Saturday at the home of her son, Adam Burns, at Shiocton. The funeral will be held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning from the Lutheran church at Shiocton with the Rev. Ewald Stertz in charge. Burial will be made at Bovina cemetery. Mrs. Burns was born in Elsahs, France, in 1845 and came to this country in 1858. She was married at Fond du Lac in 1866 to Charles Burns, who died 31 years ago. ADAM BURNS Mrs. Adam Burns, 51, died at 1 o'clock Thursday morning at her home at Shiocton. The funeral will be held at 1:30 Saturday afternoon from the residence and at 2 o'clock at Shiocton Lutheran church with the Rev. Ewald Stertz in charge. Interment will be made at Bovina cemetery. Mrs. Burns, nee Mathilda Beyer, was born in Germany Nov. 20, 1874. She was married in Bovina March 7, 1895 to Mr. Burns and the couple lived on a farm in Bovina until about a year ago. She is survived by her widower; one son, Charles; her mother, Mrs. Henrietta Beyer, Bovina; five brothers, Charles, William and Herman Beyer, Schiocton; Paul Beyer, town of Maine; John Beyer, Larsen; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Kagel, Neenah; Mrs. Bertha Kippner, Boviina.

Dec 1946 Obit (paper unknown) Adam J. Burns, 83, of Shiocton dies Adam J. Burns, 83, Shiocton, one of the oldest pioneers of the area, died this morning at the home of his only son, Charles, in Shiocton, after a short illness. He was born in Fond Du Lac May 12, 1863 and came to the town of Bovina at the age of 11 and lived with his parents on a farm near Shiocton. He had lived with his son since 1925 and was the sexton at the Bovina cemetery for the last 30 years. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shiocton. Besides his son, he is survived by three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Shiocton, with the Rev. Louis Mielke, pastor, in charge. Burial will be in the Bovina cemetery. Friends may call the Sawyer Funeral Home, Shiocton after 6 o'clock Friday evening until noon Sunday. |
