Marguerithe Heil was born December 15, 1800, in Alsace-Lorraine, France, and died December 24, 1869, in Byron Twp., Fond du Lac Co., WI, at age 69.

Married July 19, 1848, in Rockaway Twp., Morris Co., NJ to George Bastian: Born April 16, 1820, in Alsace-Lorraine, France; Died May 17, 1892, in Byron Twp., Fond du Lac Co., WI (age 72).
3. Sarah T. Scheidel was born July 4, 1830, in Alsace-Lorraine, France; Died March 10, 1923, in Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac Co., WI (age 92). Emigrated about 1850. Married (1) about 1850 to Unknown Richter: Born Unknown; Died 1870 -1876 in Wisconsin. Married (2) July 18, 1876, in Fond du Lac Co., WI, to William H. 5. Jacob Scheidel: Born June 18, 1835, in the town of Grittvil, Alsace-Lorraine, France; Died July 15, 1908, in Stevens Point, Portage Co., WI (age 73). Married in December 29, 1859 in Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac Co., WI, to Justina Emma "Lucy" Luhn: Born in July 5, 1839, in Berlin, Germany (Saxony, Prussia): Died July 29, 1915, at her home at 532 Fremont Street, Stevens Point, Portage Co., WI, (age 76).
6. Catherine Scheidel: Born October 1838 in the town of Grittvil, Alsace-Lorraine, France; Died March 1, 1907, in Fond du Lac Co., WI (age 68). Married May 6, 1857, in Fond du Lac Co., WI, to Frederick Grill: Born November 18, 1834, in Wutenberg, Germany; Died February 21, 1906, in Fond du Lac Co., WI (age 71). Frederick served in the New Jersey Infantry during the Civil War.
7. Madeleine Scheidel: Born about 1841 in the town of Grittvil, Alsace-Lorraine, France; Died Unknown.
8. Adam William Scheidel: Born April 25, 1843, in the town of Grittvil, Alsace-Lorraine, France; Died September 4, 1919, in Sherry Twp., Wood Co., WI (age 76). Married April 2, 1866, in her mother's home in South Byron, Byron Twp., Fond du Lac Co., WI, to Lucinda Matilda Abbey: Born September 30, 1848, in Hope Twp., Durham Co., Canada West (Ontario), Canada; Died February 26, 1926, at the Old Soldier's Home, King, Waupaca Co., WI (age 77).
9. Elisabeth Scheidel: Born April 1845 in the town of Grittvil, Alsace-Lorraine, France; Died May 26, 1923, in Shiocton, Outagamie Co., WI (age 78). Married 1866 in Fond du Lac Co., WI, to Charles H. Burns: Born about 1828 in Ireland; Died November 30, 1891, in Bovina, Outagamie Co., WI (about age 63).

The 1860 U. S. Census taken on August 8, 1860, shows Wm. Edwards (age 36) born in Wales with real estate of $2,300 and personal estate of $400 is a Farmer living in Eldorado Twp., Fond du Lac Co., WI. Living with him is his wife, Lydeana Edwards (age 31) born in New York. Also living there are seven Edwards children: Anna M. Edwards (age 13) born in Wales; Mary J. Edwards (age 12) born in Ohio; Eliza R. Edwards (age 7) born in Ohio; Sarah A. Edwards (age 5) born in Wisconsin; David A. Edwards (age 4) born in Wisconsin; Wm. H. Burns (age 30) a lumberman born in Ireland with real estate of $700 who cannot read or write; Elizabeth Burns (age 23) born in France who is keeping house; and Adam Burns (age 7) born in New Jersey.

Census taken on July 27, 1870, shows William Edwards (age 46) born in Wales with real estate of $3,000 and personal estate of $900 is a Farmer living in Eldorado Twp., Fond du Lac Co., WI. Living with him is Lidia Edwards (age 42) born in New York, who does Housekeeping. Also living there are ten Edwards children: Mary J. Edwards (age 21) born in Ohio; Elisa Edwards (age 17) born in Ohio; Sarah A. Edwards (age 15) born in Wisconsin; David A. The Rohlf (sometimes called Welton) cemetery description below is from researchers in 1975. Leigh Larson visited the cemetery on June 20, 2003 and can confirm that the appearance has not improved over the years. A neighbor said for a few years a local 4-H group maintained the grounds, but that ended some time ago. Essentially this is a small overgrown woodlot with many overturned, broken or sunken gravestones.

ROHLF CEMETERY. Town of Eden, Fond du Lac County; Section 31. Location: This cemetery is located on Co. Hwy Y, one mile east of Co. K. The cemetery is on the north side of the Hwy. where Co. Y turns a sharp right and a Country road forks left. It is on a small hill and cannot be recognized as a cemetery until you climb the road embankment, and see the stones. It is extremely overgrown and neglected. The stones are scattered throughout the cemetery. History: On April 8, 1853 Alfred Bliss and wife Harriet R. sold to Quimby Hayes, Elias Wilbur and Zopher B. Hays, one acre of section 31 for $1.00, this is the SE corner of Sec. 31.

When Catherine emigrated to the USA at age 14, she must have been traveling with an adult, probably a relative. Listed in the ship manifest as coming from France were: Elisa Sailz (age 21), Friedrich Kerng/Kang (age 4), and Salome Kerng/Kang (age 23).

Sarah Unknown: Born about 1859 in New Jersey; Died after 1920. Was a half-sister to her siblings, including Jacob Shidel. Mrs. Sarah Edwards of Fond du Lac.

Wm. H. Edwards and Harriet Eastman were married March 30, 1861, in Fond du Lac Co., WI.

William Edwards and Mrs. Sarah Richter were married July 18, 1876, in Fond du Lac Co., WI. Sarah would have been about age 47 at this time.

The 1880 U. S. Census taken on June 21, 1880, shows William Edwards (age 56) born in Wales to Welsh-born parents is a Farmer with asthma who is living in Eldorado Twp., Fond du Lac Co., WI. Living with him is his wife, Sarah Edwards (age 51) born in Baden to Baden-born parents, who is Keeping House. Also living there are his five unmarried children, all born in Wisconsin to Welsh and Ohio-born parents: George Edwards (age 20) who Works on Farm; Myron Edwards (age 16) who Works on Farm; Royal Edwards (age 13) who Works on Farm; Cora Edwards (age 10); and Hattie Edwards (age 7). Also living there: his married step-daughter: Sarah Jungnik (age 25) born in New Jersey to Baden-born parents, who is Keeping House; and his step granddaughter, Arabell Jungnik (age 4) born in Wisconsin to Prussian and New Jersey-born parents. Also living there is a widow, Sarah McDonald (age 60)  born in Wales to Welsh-born parents is Keeping House. Other Watsons and Edwards also live there.

In 1880, Carl Jungnik (a married Cigar Maker age 29) is living in Berlin, Green Lake Co., WI.

Carl G. Jungnik married Wilhemine Brunke on May 25, 1891, in Outagamie Co., WI.

The 1900 U. S. Census taken on June 1, 1900, shows William Edward (age 76) born November 1823 in Wales to Welsh-born parents and having emigrated in 1847 and a Naturalized citizen owns his own home free of a mortgage and is living in the City of Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac Twp., Fond du Lac Co., WI. Living with him is his wife of 23 years, Sarah Edward (age 67) born July 1832 in Germany to German-born parents and having emigrated in 1855, with both children born to her still alive.

The 1910 U. S. Census taken on April 20, 1910, shows Sarah T. Edwards (age 79) born in Germany to German-born parents and having emigrated in 1853 is a widow with her Own Income living alone in her owned house at 355 Doty Street, 15th Ward, City of Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac Co., WI.

In 1910 Myron and Royal are bachelor farmers living in North Dakota.

In 1920 Royal had married and was a Farmer in North Dakota.

The 1920 U. S. Census taken on January 13, 1920, shows Sarah T. Edwards (age 89) born in Alsace-Lorraine, France to Alsace-Lorraine-born parents and a naturalized citizen is a widow living in her own house at 355 Doty Street, 15th Ward, City of Fond du Lac, Fond du Lac Co., WI. Living with her is her widowed daughter, Sarah Reithehibach/Reithchibad (age 61) born in New Jersey to Alsace-Lorraine-born parents.

Sarah Kuntz (born about 1855 in New Jersey) first married Carl Gustave Junknik (Unknown - about 1925; Ch. Paul Immanuel Jungnik: B. July 17, 1879 and died September 10, 1879. then married Unknown Reithehibad

Mr. Jacob Shidel was of the frugal, honest German type and was in all respects a worthy neighbor and a good citizen. He is survived by his widow and two children, Fred C. Shidel of Amherst and Mrs. E. C. Ellis of this city. His oldest son, John A. Shidel, an engineer on the Wisconsin Central, was killed in a wreck at Des Plaines five years ago. He also leaves a brother and sister and half-sister, Adam Shidel of Milladore, Mrs. Elizabeth Burns of Shiocton, and Mrs. Sarah Edwards of Fond du Lac. Fred Shidel had been assisting in the care of his father since Friday. The brother and sister are here and Mrs. Edwards will also be present at the funeral. He was a member of the local Grand Army post.
