In the 1881 Census, I found Charles Hooper in
Toronto along with his father Henry and his
mother.
I checked the 1871 census and found them again.
This time it was clear that his mother's name is
Ann. Also there are two sisters living with them
at the time.

Also living there are their children, all C. Methodist and born in Ontario, Canada: Lewis Abby (age 22) a Lawyer; Linda Abby (age 19); Martha Abby (age 18); and Hattie Abby (age 13).
